Swim Walk Explore - Guided Cold Water Swim – 1.5 hours £40
Lose yourself in nature when you join a small group as we swoosh down a tributory of the River Wey near Ripley, Surrey. Swim and walk through beautiful open countryside, dip into the river and go with its flow as we float past the riverbank. Whilst, at this time of year, we do not expect to be in the water more than 20 minutes there is still much to see and enjoy.
Because of the lower autumunal water temperatures, full length wetsuits are a must. Footwear in which you can walk and swim in are also essential.
The pace will be a relaxed breaststroke for most of the route allowing us to see, hear and take in all that the river has on offer making this ideal for those with some river swimming as well as experienced swimmers alike.
After a short walk to the start, we launch into a beautiful tributary to the River Wey before re-joining the main river and swoosh back to our start point.
This a great morning out with like minded people enjoying the 'wilds' of Surrey. Bring a friend and make more along the way.
Basic kit required - Full, detailed joining instructions, kit and what to expect will be shared on email once booked:

Open water swimming is all about the experience, the joy of being in the great outdoors and sharing the adventure with others. At this time of year, it is less about swimming for exercise more about enjoying being immersed in nature, enjoying the mental and physical benefits of cold water. The aim is this session is to give you confidence and the skills needed to swim in open water whether it be at a managed venue or wilder location.
These sessions are designed to improve your knowledge of swimming in open water safely and build your confidence and enjoyment in colder water. They will last around 2 hours. The time we spend in the water depends on the group, the conditions and will be measured in minutes at this time of year. You must be confident to be able to swim more than 200m in a swimming pool. Choose to swim either with a wetsuit or not. They are not compulsory.
Whilst there are many benefits to being in cold water there are also risks which can include the affects of a rise in blood pressure such as heart attack. If you have any concerns regarding your health and level of fitness please get in touch with us and/or speak to your doctor.
The session is subject to weather and water conditions. We will inform you asap if we need to postpone the session and offer a new date.
Sessions can only run with sufficient numbers - so bring a friend!
